The establishment of the Ogu General Assembly in 2019 was to meet a need: provide a common platform for all Ogus at home and abroad. A number of well-meaning and concerned Ogu individuals felt there should be a rallying point for all of us where we can come together as often as necessary to reflect on our common existence, destiny, and the issues that matter to these, assert our uniqueness and peculiarities as a people, reflect on the cultural heritage inherited from our forefathers, and chart a course of holistic progress and development for all Ogu, especially those of Nigerian extraction.
To achieve the above, we are concerned about:
Ogu cultural Renaissance and language maintenance
reaffirming our history and origins
education, career guidance, and mentoring of the young Ogu
cooperating with our neighbours in the interest of all.
evolving a united Ogu nation speaking with one voice and pursuing a common destiny for the good of the Ogu wherever they may be found
making every Ogu person proud of their identity and the core values espoused by Ogu cultural ethos
